Oh dear bhagwan! I love the writing and weight loss parallels ...the shoulds and the lists ....my favourite obsessions.....I've been itching too to write on this ...but thanks to this I'm recognising the shoulds that are barriers! Keep it coming Raju..the lightness is evidently infectious
Thank you for writing this so beautifully, honestly. I have often thought that we can help each other with kindness - even if it means saying aloud "let us exercise together, it might help you to go for a walk and let us buy a new dress." We all have needed such prompts. I am afraid in the name of political correctness we have silenced ourselves - and slowly have absolved ourselves of responsibilities of looking out for one another. Your writing is a wake up call.
Love your notes, love them. A shouldless life. I am repeating this to myself. Shoulds have a lot of weight. Why carry so much! And yes, we are all enough. Thank you, Raju, for reiterating it.
Raju Tai, ek workshop metaphors pr (Im sure there'll soon be demand for more). Ek class apne Substack home ko khoobsurat bananey ko, please!
Loved the piece, RT! 'I am Enough' is on my daily affirmations app lol From avoiding my workouts and yoga recently because I couldn't bear the sight of my body fat struggling in my old clothes to buying new clothes (andar se bahar tak) so I don't punish my body and deprive it of the endorphins and serotonin, I've come a long long way. Thank you for writing this and giving us the gift of lightness - from weights that we carry everyday, especially that of 'shouldness'! I've been wanting to write at least 3 important essays - I think I'll apply your mantra of 'shouldness' and allow myself to feel light when approaching my writing. Thank you, once again!
You are being too kind, Raju, and being a good tennis player, lobbing compliments back at the complimenter (is there such a word?😆). Love reading your posts my friend ❤️🤗
