Raju, this is the softest, most heartfelt ode to sleep! And it couldn’t have been re-posted at a better time, when I find myself pondering so often about sleep. May it come for us and lull us into its deep, sukoonful embrace.

sukoonful is the word of the century for me now. Thank you Sai. Wishing you lots of amazing sleep with Jilby.. and _____ forgetting the name of the second one. ♥️ please remind.

Jilby and Chumpy (Champak)! 💛

Raju, it's not even weird how I knew you'd react this way to 'sukoonful'.

Raju, this could be the hymn of the 21st century. A song of hope for all the twisting and turning sleepless bodies. We all need sleep to come. And feed us from its dabba of dreams.

Tonight, I'm going to wait for the dabba of dreams that my elusive nocturnal companion will hopefully bring along. I had never looked for the dabba. Thank you so much, Raju, for the lovely reminder. I have been through the familial disapproval reserved for late risers. I have struggled with the early to bed, early to rise rhyming proverb for decades, but am neither wealthy nor wise yet. Every night, I signal for sleep to arrive when the Kindle topples on my face. I must be more polite and accord it a better welcome. I'll be gentle with it, and hope that it will be gentle with me.

Lovely, tender piece of writing.

Thank you Archana. This is one of the loveliest responses I’ve ever received. A big hug for all the times of disapproval. 💙 And the toppling of the kindle is too real.

Raju- "Give me the courage to be the boring person," is really a line we all should recite every day.

So true! thank you for highlighting this line back to me exactly when I need it.. Was thinking it with respect to food this time.. Thanks Thalia ♥️🫰

Food is always a context that applies to more than we'd expect. So I like that that's where it brought you, Raju. Hope you're well this week? Cheers, -Thalia

Hey Raju,

Just beginning to figure the Stack and this came at an opportune moment, just before I sleep.

This lovely ode to sleep is what I needed to feel reassured of my sleep cycle and that of my teenager’s. Raju your words give me a hope that’s beyond beautiful. Thank you sweet one. 🫶🙏🏼
