Love this! Very reminiscent of some of the ideas in Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon. It was only I read that book and got over the need to be “original” that I began to have the beginnings of courage to write. Thank you for the reminder, Raju! ❤️

Covers also help introduce us to genres we wouldn’t otherwise hear. The Bollywood version of lal peeli ankhiyan has taken rajasthani folk to a wider audience. I only wish there was clear recognition of this.

Aaj writing circle mein aap k essay ka zikr hua Raju Tai. We said how liberating it feels to create just for the sake of creating, without any inhibitions. Also, how important this piece was for beginners like us :)

Very good points made. Completely relate to the covers sometimes being more enjoyable than the original. Relate very much but had never thought of it in this way before. Thanks for writing this.

This needs to be emphasized, remembered, repeated, hammered till it hits home (which is my own anxious heart). Lovely read, may we all continue to copy, imitate and surrender to the forces, higher and better…so liberating 🦋🦋
