Dear Reader,
I just wanted to let you know, that I’m concluding Season 3 of Evolving & Enough with this little letter.
It was a sudden decision that I took over 30 days to make!
For some of you, this is perhaps the first issue that’s landing in your inbox. I’m sorry to say bye instead of saying hi!
See, I had no plans of stopping. I had at least 10 more essays lined up. But I also ran out of the time, energy, and money required to sustain this newsletter project. I am also in the middle of a transition that honestly feels like the tectonic plates underneath me are shifting. I’m having to unlearn and learn hundreds of things at the same time.
I must follow my own advice of taking breaks. And Michaela Cole’s advice to disappear for a while.
Disappearing takes as much courage as showing your work. Consistency is both overrated and underrated. Consistency helps me to resist perfectionism, channelizes my energy, provides a rhythm to my creative life. It is consistency that builds a relationship between you and me.
But here’s the kicker: when you create consistently, you will feel oddly empowered. With power, you will make changes to your life. And when your life changes, how can you continue being consistent in the same way?
That’s why I believe in seasons. Seasonality to me is a mix of consistency, rest, and rejuvenation. Or shall I say rajuvenation? (See? I clearly need a break if I’m punning this way.)
I have fallen deeper in love with the essay form through the 14 essays I sent out this season. But I want to share other things with you too. I just need to go find the right container. I also want to bring in more mutual pleasure and satisfaction for both of us.
I didn’t want to end this season because it was so much fun! I had only dreamt of readers like you.
So I must go work hard, to become the writer you all deserve.
See you all in Season 4.
With love and a sense of enoughness,
raju
How so much wisdom and insight? :D I'm drinking it all in as I binge-read. Loving the idea of thinking of newsletters as Seasons (1,2,3...etc) and creative lives in terms of seasons. And of disappearance needing courage. Amongst other things, I am DELIGHTED that kids get to learn from you. Our world needs teachers like you, our world needs corners of the internets like this!
Sometimes it is the most important decision of your next step and breakthrough. Enjoy the pause and who knows it will birth an even more inspirational series.
Sending enjoy the pause vibe ✨️
